We (Tom, Anna Gracen, Christian and I - Wooten stayed over with his cousin) visited West Johnston High School tonight to see the Wildcats take on East Wake's Warriors. The Wildcats did it AGAIN! Let me tell you it wasn't pretty! West Johnston 21, East Wake 14. West Johnston took the lead early on and kept it, luckily. There were mistakes (nobody likes to make them, but they happen, don't they?), but they prevailed instead of totally crumbling. To me the main thing to remember is that playing football should be fun. Not to mention the big picture - 7 and 0. Please lift Bennett, the coaching staff, the players and their parents up in prayer. This is an exciting time for them - a time to stick together and grow as individuals as well as a team. Please pray that these young men will make wise decisions on and off the field. They will be gearing up this coming week for homecoming against Clayton (the team Bennett was assistant coach for before going to West).
We are proud of Bennett and the great job he is doing!
Other prayer requests:
Kay's (my stepmother) mother is in the hospital. She has been diagnosed with a faulty left ventricle. I pray for the Lord to give the doctors wisdom and to give Mrs. Hazel peace. May His healing be manifested in her body in Jesus' mighty name.
Jennifer's (Bennett's wife) co-worker's husband passed away suddenly this week. May God cover this family with His peace and lift them as they mourn. He will uphold them with His strength and shower them with His love.
Have a blessed weekend!!
