Ladies & Gentlemen we have SNOW!!!!

Today was an awesome snow day!! The kids wanted to go outside at 7:00 am. We did get bundled up and headed out around 9:00 am. They played and played. I played for awhile and then came in to get the chili into the crock pot to cook while we continued with our snow day. We watched the inauguration and then picked Wooten up from MeMa and PaPa's house. We rode around and took some pictures. Here is a Canadian goose at Toisnot Reservoir.

Here is one of the ten deer we saw in a field near Elm City. They were pretty far out in the field. How beautiful!

After we went sledding, we rode by to visit Nana. Anya, Darrell and Natalie were outside sledding with the 4-wheeler. Darrell was nice enough to take the kids for a whirl around the yard. Here is Anna Gracen having a blast.

While we were sledding, Christian takes a rest while waiting for his next ride down the hill. We enjoyed the homemade hot cocoa we brought along in the thermos.

Wooten decides to try snow "surfing".

After the visiting, sledding and picture taking we headed back home. The chili that was waiting for us smelled oh so yummy. I baked up a batch of homemade seasoned biscuits and we dug in. Afterwards we had bowls of snow cream.
We ended up with 5 to 5 1/2 inches of snow. We are planning on going sledding again in the morning. We also want to build a snowman. The snow didn't pack too well today. Who knows when we'll have more snow - we're going to enjoy it while we can. It will be gone soon - the high predicted for Friday is 50.

  1. What fun you all had!!! I'm so glad you got to go and play. The food didn't sound bad either.
You can play in the snow today for awhile maybe? It looks like it might melt in that warm sunshine. Have a good day everyone!
    Love,
    Mema
